Legacy Taipei, located in a former warehouse at Huashan 1914 Creative Park (華山1914), hosts top Taiwanese pop performers and international acts. Veteran folk singer Tai Chao-mei (邰肇玫) returns tonight. Tomorrow, record label How We Roll presents a party featuring hip-hop artist E So playing with six-piece brass band to fuse jazz with hip-hop.

Japanese punk rockers Geeks join hand with dance rock group P!SCO and pop/emo rockers Clubs of Three (梅花參) tonight at The Wall (這牆), Taipei’s most prominent venue for indie rock artists. Tomorrow’s limelight is on Japan’s post-hardcore band 9mm Parabellum Bullet. Top bands from this year’s Ho-Hai-Yan Gongliao Rock Festival (貢寮國際海洋音樂祭) including Brit pop/grunge group Trash, acoustic group Dark White-collar Workers (暗黑白領階級) and hip-hop act Chiu and Love (丘與樂) play on Sunday. It is hip-hopsters Community Service (勞動服務) and Bike on Wednesday, followed by Hispanic-Taiwanese pop band Duda Deportiva and Baroque indie-pop group The Tic Tac on Thursday.

DJs Marcus Sangiovese, Agustin and Damo Darko take to the decks tonight at indie rock club Revolver. The venue hosts a reggae party tomorrow featuring Firerama and DJ Raby Doo. On Sunday, it is live music from pop-punks Yidiansheng (一點生), emo/punk band Away From Kitsch (遠離媚俗) and alternative rockers Suck the Air (倒抽一口氣). On Wednesday, DJ ollo from Shanghai teams up with electronic duo Orientone (大聲東) and hip-hop artist Aristophanes (貍貓), while Indie rockers How to Program C++, Winking Owl and post-rock act Phantasy of Mirage (現象師) hit the stage on Thursday.

Firerama (火哈馬), a blazing reggae party, returns to Revolver tomorrow with a lineup of reggae, roots, dub and dancehall heat with Taiwan’s original sound system, O-Brothaz, alongside special guest DJ Raby Doo.

Funk/alternative rock group Liou Jiou (六腳) and hardcore/comedy rap artists Appendix Deux-Killers (闌尾雙煞) are scheduled tonight at Roxy Rocker, a basement hangout for indie rockers and fans in Taipei. Chiu and Love shares the stage with funk/disco/nu-jazz combo Funky Brothers (放客兄弟) tomorrow.

Indie rockers Donkey’s Ears (驢子耳朵), Islanders (島嶼樂團) and post-rock band Naturally Out of Line (自然出格) hit the stage tonight at Pipe Live Music, a main venue for indie music and parties. Post-hardcore/metalcore outfit MenLiveN, Joker and hardcore metal band Human Brutality (人類暴行) are among the performers at tomorrow’s party joined by bands from across the country.

Pop/funk artist Dawen (王大文) appears tonight at Witch House (女巫店), an intimate coffeehouse-style venue in the National Taiwan University area, with Rotten Neighbor (惡鄰居) also on the bill. It is Amis pop/rock/blues combo Nuka Band (鹿角樂團) and Aboriginal singing combo Lan-hsin Band (嵐馨樂團) tomorrow.

Folk/pop act Hush! pays a tribute concert to American jazz guitarist Mike Stern tonight at Riverside Cafe (河岸留言). Drummer Peng Hao-wei (彭浩瑋) from taike rockers Zenkwun (神棍) teams up with friends for a show tomorrow. On Sunday, pop rockers Soundboss (騷包) and indie rockers How You Fu each plays a set, followed by Hippocampus (海馬迴) and pop group Anchor on Tuesday. Puyuma musician Ushiw Pakaruku teams up with Vangsaran (部落美男子) on Wednesday, with Tai Nine Line (台玖線樂團) also playing. Thursday’s show is by alternative rock outfit Morphineside (嗎啡隱私) and Islanders (島嶼樂團).

IN’G Quartet performs tonight at Sappho de Base, a late-night lounge bar that hosts mostly jazz shows, while it is funk/instrumental band K-106 tomorrow. Tamatave Jazz Quintet plays original compositions inspired by bebop, modal and modern jazz on Sunday. Fusion jazz group Tonic 5 appears on Wednesday, followed by Post Off-Peak Times (後離峰時刻) on Thursday.

The Wall (這牆) programs regular live rock shows at Kaohsiung’s Pier 2 Arts Center (高雄駁二藝術特區). Tomorrow, it is the release party of screamo band Ship of Fools’ (愚人船) new album, with instrumental rock band BHD and heavy metal act Burning Island (火燒島) as special guests.
