Legacy Taipei, located in a former warehouse at Huashan 1914 Creative Park (華山1914), hosts top Taiwanese pop performers and international acts. Musical talent and poet Summer Lei (雷光夏) holds a concert tonight. On Thursday, the latest edition of The Next Big Thing features electronic rockers Flux, R&B/funk group Space Cake (史貝絲考克) and post-rock band Bugs of Phonon (聲子蟲).

Post-punk/garage rock group Tight Tight Crotch (緊褲襠), instrumental rock band BHD and electronic/alternative rock outfit Sleeping Brain (眠腦) congregate tonight at The Wall (這牆), Taipei’s most prominent venue for indie rock artists. Tomorrow, the venue hosts ACG Band Live, a regularly held event featuring music groups playing songs from animation works and computer games. Rock Empire’s Euro Metal Month continues on Sunday with a performance by Finnish folk metal band Korpiklaani. It is the Audition Night on Thursday, showing off new bands including funk/rock group Mofo Party (脫序派對), As Real and The Unspoken Rules (潛規則).

Electronic/post-hardcore act Mothman (天蛾人) arrives at indie rock club Revolver from Tainan tonight, with punk/alternative rockers Phototaxis (趨光性) also on the bill. Tomorrow’s lineup include psychedelic rock band The Gigantic Roar (巨大的轟鳴), noise band She Bang A (死蚊子) and psychedelic heavy rockers Sleaze (湯湯水水). Rock group Stranger (陌生人) shares the stage with electronic/post punk group Miss Banana (香蕉小姐) on Wednesday. On the first Thursday of every month, the venue hosts open mic session titled Sit Down and Shut the Fuck Up.

Tonight’s spotlight is on Mike McLaughlin Trio at Riverside Cafe (河岸留言), while rockers Eugene (尤景文) and Again (蔡科俊) appear tomorrow. On Sunday, folk/British rock band Great Adventure (大冒險樂團) shares the stage with punk/pop rockers Hardboiled (水煮蛋). High-school rock band Chingkanliu (情留感樂團) and DJ Eva are scheduled on Tuesday, followed by pop/soul artist Dawen (王大文) and pop crooner Sherry (鄭雙雙) on Wednesday. The Taiwan POW Camps Memorial Society and the Australian Office will hold a Remembrance Day service on Nov. 10 at 11am on the site of the former Kinkaseki POW Camp in the village of Jinguashi. Following the service, everyone is invited to join together for a picnic lunch in the community center. Chartered buses will depart from the east side of the Grand Hyatt Hotel, 2, Songshou Rd, Taipei City (台北市松壽路2號) at 9:15am, and will leave Jinguashi for Taipei around 2 pm. The cost for the bus and lunch is NT$400 and reservations are required.
