Legacy Taipei, located in a former warehouse at Huashan 1914 Creative Park (華山1914), hosts top Taiwanese pop performers and international acts. Tonight’s spotlight is on pop/rock idol Bobby Chen (陳昇), while Sunday’s lineup includes One Million Star (超級星光大道) alumnus Queen (魏如昀), folk/pop act Hush! and Red (紅樂團), which brings a fusion of electronic and Chinese traditional music. Folk legend Yeh Chia-hsiu (葉佳修) returns on Wednesday.

Shoegaze/new-wave trio Fuguko (河豚子), indie rockers B.B.Bomb (BB彈) and Super Tortoise (超級龜) congregate tonight at The Wall (這牆), Taipei’s most prominent venue for indie rock artists. Pop punks Pa Pun (怕胖團) holds a concert tomorrow, and Sunday’s show is by dance/rock band Acidy Peeping Tom (微酸的偷窺狂), Midnight Ping Pong (午夜乒乓) and instrumental/post-rock outfit Mass Man. It is the release party of Seeking the Ocean’s debut EP on Wednesday, with Invincible Tapir (無敵貘) and Faded Moment (凋零瞬間) also playing. Tonight it is live musical performance by Pressure Creates Diamonds Part V at indie rock club Revolver, followed by tomorrow’s Latin night featuring various bands. Indie singer/songwriter Deserts Chang (張懸) plays two sets on Sunday. Funk outfit Quack Quad (庸醫樂團) and indie rockers Ark (阿克樂團) form the lineup on Wednesday, while post-rock/electric act LSD Love Sex Delicious, indie rockers Double Trouble and Spaghetti Wave (通心粉浪潮) play on Thursday.

Psychedelic rock outfit Emily the Band plays with electronic/punk rock group Digihai tonight at Roxy Rocker, a basement hangout for indie rockers and fans in Taipei. It is live music from alternative rockers Countervalve (逆瓣膜) and B.B.Bomb (BB彈) tomorrow.

Tonight’s performers are young rockers Mixer (麋先生), Soundboss (騷包) and emo/power pop group State of the Heart (本能) at Pipe Live Music, a main venue for indie music and parties. Tomorrow, the venue hosts the third edition of Ducktail Rebel, an annual rockabilly festival featuring Japanese rockers The Nut Burgers, The Highlight, Taiwan’s rockabilly band Taipei Hillbilly Cat and rockabilly burlesque dancer Nahoko-Roll. It is old-school metal party on Sunday, featuring Desecration, Crescent Lament, King Norman and Masquerader.

Cheng Kuang-hsien (鄭光顯) from punk rock band Inhuman Band (非人物種), Chen Min-kuan (陳民官) from The Junk (帆人) and Jon from Forests (森林合唱樂團) team up for an acoustic show as a tribute to the late folk musician Elliot Smith tomorrow at Kafka on the Shore (海邊的卡夫卡), a coffee house-cum-music and arts venue in the National Taiwan University area.

It is a jazz night with saxophone player Tung Shuen-wen (董舜文) and his friends tonight at Riverside Cafe (河岸留言), while electronic rock group GooDDD (好端端樂團) and Funcal (方治權) play tomorrow. On Sunday, alternative rock band 3.D.B (參噸半樂團) shares the stage with Wildflower (野花樂團). Japan’s jazz piano player Takashi Kudo teams up with drummer Seiji Sakai tonight at Sappho de Base, a late-night lounge bar that hosts mostly jazz shows. Beijing-based jazz trio MU5A’s performs tomorrow, with Boston-based saxophonist Ryan Saranich as the special guest. The Blurrs Bros plays classic R&B and blues tunes on Sunday. It is an indie/folk night with a troupe of bands and musicians including Megan Dooley, Winking Owl, Adam James Sorensen and Mike Mudd on Thursday.

The Wall (這牆) programs regular live rock shows at Kaohsiung’s Pier 2 Arts Center (高雄駁二藝術特區). As part of the Kaohsiung Film Festival, pop star-turned-electronica artist Lim Giong (林強) teams up with DJ Point and multimedia artist and musician Ke Chih-hao (柯智豪) for an audiovisual show tomorrow.
