Musicians and activists from Taiwan’s indigenous tribes will come to Taipei to celebrate their cultures and discuss various issues surrounding their lands at the Senay Indigenous Concert (Senay！唱，我們的話！), which opens tonight at 7pm at The Wall. Organized by Katatepan Cultural Studio, the event is intended to raise awareness of Aboriginal issues as well as encourage young artists and musicians to revive ancient tunes and seek inspiration in tradition.
Participating performers including Pinuyumayan, Taitung, musician Sangpuy (桑布伊), Paiwan hip-hop artists Boxing (拳樂團) and Seredau Taliyaljan will sing in tribal tongues, while talking about the social, political and environmental problems faced by the indigenous peoples in the country.
