Legacy Taipei, located in a former warehouse at Huashan 1914 Creative Park (華山1914), hosts top Taiwanese pop performers and international acts. The venue hosts American musician Christopher Owens, best known for his now disbanded indie rock band Girls, tonight. British electronic rock outfit Delphic plays on Monday. Wednesday’s lineup features alt-rock band Silent Toads (啾吉惦惦) and post-rock act Selfkill.

Alt-pop band 13 (拾參) shares the stage with indie pop group Queen Suitcase (皇后皮箱) tonight at The Wall (這牆), Taipei’s most prominent venue for indie rock artists. Japan’s trash metal band Zigoku Quartet holds a demonstration and concert tomorrow. Sunday’s main act is Underway, which fuses funk, rock, nu-metal and hip-hop. Wednesday’s lineup includes Britpop group The Aurora Light (北極光) and Fang Zhang Band (方丈), followed by solo rocker Saint (李其燊) and pop metal group Crystal Dancer (舞璃) on Thursday.

Tonight’s show at Indie rock club Revolver features alternative rockers When I See the Mushroom Cloud and dance/rock band Acidy Peeping Tom (微酸的偷窺狂). Skyline Jazz Band brings a night of fusion jazz tonight at Riverside Cafe (河岸留言). Post-punk rockers Macbeth (馬克白) play two sets tomorrow, followed by Aboriginal groups TV Night Class (電視夜間部) and Bar999 (巴紮溜) on Sunday. On Fridays at Italian restaurant Capone’s, it is time for live music from electric blues band Bopomofo (ㄅㄆㄇㄈ). On Saturday, drummer Abe Nbugu Kenyatta leads a band playing music from his hometown of New Orleans. Yvonne sings classic jazz tunes Sunday nights. Mondays feature Leavy crooning light standard jazz songs, followed by jazz duo Mary Jane and Nathan on Tuesdays. On Wednesdays, it’s Latin music from guitarist Roberto Zayas. Taipei Discussion and Learning meets every Sunday at Wisteria Tea House (紫藤廬) to hear lectures and discuss topics such as philosophy, science, anthropology, globalization and alternative medicine. All discussions and lectures are conducted in English. This weekend’s lecture is entitled: Recent experiments into how consciousness can affect matter.
