Legacy Taipei, located in a former warehouse at Huashan 1914 Creative Park (華山1914), hosts top Taiwanese pop performers and international acts. The spotlight is on alt-rock chanteuse Faith Yang (楊乃文) tonight. Her show tomorrow is sold out. The latest installment of The Next Big Thing features downtempo/electronic musician UFA (幽法), indie electronica/trip hop group Ma-te-Lin (林瑪黛) and Papaver on Thursday.

Ne Obliviscaris, a progressive/extreme/melodic metal band from Australia arrives tonight at The Wall (這牆), Taipei’s most prominent venue for indie rock artists. Taiwan’s indie pop/acoustic duo Ding Ding and Shi Shi (丁丁與西西) takes the stage tomorrow. It is German post-metal outfit The Ocean on Sunday, with Scattered Purgatory (破地獄) also playing.

Taipei’s grind/powerviolence/crust band Stench of Lust hits the stage tonight at indie rock club Revolver. Also on the bill are heavy metal band Xenophobia and old school trash/black metal punks Bazooka. Tomorrow’s show features Body Generator (體粒發電) and a troupe of DJs including Radge Attack, Mad Dog and Neker.

Indie rockers How to Program C++ and Blind Cat (瞎貓) are scheduled tonight at Roxy Rocker, a basement hangout for indie rockers and fans in Taipei. Pop punk and modern rock outfit Go Go Rise (美好前程) and neo-rockabilly band Sugar Lady hit the stage tomorrow.

Pipe Live Music, a main venue for indie music and parties, hosts Mando-pop female crooner Ren, aka Hsia Yu-tung (夏宇童) and Love Manana (愛的大未來) tonight. Tomorrow features a group of indie rockers including Eighty Percent Intoxicate (八分醉), Contrary Think (逆思) and Hazard Sunday (恐怖星期天). It is the release party of Donkey’s Ears’ (驢子耳朵) debut album on Sunday, with Indie rock group Posh Inverse (優雅逆轉) also playing.
