“It is all about balance and diversity. Different groups should take turns organizing the parade so that a lot more issues can be discussed,” she said.

The procession will set off at 2pm from Birthday Park (生日公園), located near the corner of Jhongshan 2nd Road (中山二路) and Sihwei 3rd Road (四維三路), follow Wufu 2nd Road (五福二路), Cingnian 1st Road, (青年一路), Lingya 1st Road (苓雅一路) and return to the park at approximately 6pm.

The parade will pass through New Horie (新崛江), a bustling shopping district, and make a stop in front of Kaohsiung City Hall, where participants will deliver this year’s LGBTIQ message. Participating groups are also encouraged to advocate for their own rights and concerns at several designated spots along the parade route, Pan said.

The Kaohsiung LGBTIQ Pride Parade is currently open for group registration. For more information, visit:, or
