The world’s most influential electronic music band, Kraftwerk, is set to perform a No Nuke series concert on April 30 at the NTU Sports Center. Since 1970, what has been coming out of their secret studio somewhere in Germany, has shaped modern music of all genres and Kraftwerk are widely known as The Beatles of electronic music. The notoriously elusive group makes very few appearances, but has selected Taipei with the promise of spreading a message. Kraftwerk have been telling people of the dangers of nuclear energy since their 1975 song Radioactivity, and in the wake of the Fukushima nuclear accident, they have taken their message live. In a rare production, Kraftwerk will perform their hits in a special concert that aims to bring awareness to Taiwan’s current nuclear power plant issue. Fans in Taipei will also have the privilege of seeing Kraftwerk’s unique interpretation of the crisis in 3D.
