Japanese pop-rock band flumpool will play two shows starting tonight at Legacy Taipei, located in a former warehouse at Huashan 1914 Creative Park (華山1914). Tomorrow’s show is sold out. On Monday, it is punk rock/ska band SiM and emo punk/hardcore outfit coldrain, both of which are from Japan. Legendary American trash metal act Testament makes their second visit to Taiwan on Wednesday. In late October of 1873 the government of Japan decided against sending a military expedition to Korea to force that nation to open trade relations. Located down a sideroad in old Wanhua District (萬華區), Waley Art (水谷藝術) has an established reputation for curating some of the more provocative indie art exhibitions in Taipei. And this month is no exception. Peter Brighton was amazed when he found the giant jackfruit.
