Ma Yuan at A Corner (斜角上遇馬遠) presents new expressionist paintings by Tsong Pu (莊普), one of Taiwan’s most respected artists. In Ma Yuan, Tsong reinterprets classical Chinese landscape painting through his trademark minimalist squares.

Can You Puff That Sound Away? (妳可以吹走那聲音嗎 ?) is a solo exhibition of photography by Hong Kong artist Lee Kit (李傑). Lee, better known for his paintings and installations, photographs individuals in urban environments, all rendered with a touch of pathos.

PAINT(ING)- Mao Yan and His Students (繪畫之中-毛焰師生展) is a group exhibition that brings together Mao Yan, a respected Chinese artist and considered one of the greatest exponents of Chinese Neo Realism, and four of his students. Mao’s portraits serve as personal icons that transcend race, sex, personality and personal characteristics. His concentration and exploration on portrait studies avoids themes of contemporary art practices such as conceptualism and new media, and instead attempts to revive the language and themes of classical painting.

Photography, video and installation are among the media Wu Chi-Tsung (吳季璁) works with to create images that are meant to challenge the perception of our physical and natural world. In this solo exhibition, Wu’s installation explores the relationship between the sublime and the minute by transforming paper into mountain ranges — or possibly a sea of waves, depending on the viewer’s interpretation.

Well-known artist Michael Lin (林明弘) collaborated with 12 amateur painters from disciplines as diverse as anthropology, physics and music for Painter (試塗), an exhibition of six large-scale paintings at Eslite Gallery, that reveals his continued interest in decorative and vibrant flower motifs.
