Cutting edge technology and new ideas get their biggest airing at the Taipei International Invention Show & Technomart (台北國際發明暨技術交易展) that will take place at the Taiwan World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1 (台北世界貿易中心 展覽1館) located at 5 Xinyi Rd Sec 5, Taipei City (台北市信義路5段5號). This is the 8th edition of this event and is by far the biggest, with a total of 700 companies from 26 countries spread over 1,079 booths. The main theme of this year’s event is “smart living” (智慧生活), and nearly 2,000 types of smart devices will be on display. Many government agencies will also be present, with a high profile section focusing on the need for greater knowledge about patents. An extensive program of seminars is also on offer, in addition to the always important aspect of finding new trading partners and new directions. Extensive English-language information about the show is available at www.inventaipei.com.tw. The show runs until Sept. 23. The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (中華民國對外貿易發展協會), who is sponsoring the event, estimates that the four-day show will attract 86,000 visitors and will create trade opportunities worth NT$100 million.
