British singer Amy Winehouse has been cautioned by police after admitting an assault during a night out in London, authorities said Saturday.
Winehouse, known for songs including You Know I¡¦m No Good as well as her troubled private life, was involved in a fracas as she tried to hail a taxi in the early hours of Wednesday in Camden, north London.
The singer¡¦s spokesman said she had admitted ¡§slapping a man with an open hand.¡¨ Media reports said she had headbutted one man and punched another.
She was cautioned for common assault, meaning she has admitted the offence and now has a criminal record, a spokesman for London¡¦s Metropolitan Police said.
Winehouse, 24, was held at a central London police station overnight but left Saturday. She now faces no further action.
The Grammy award-winner, whose album Back to Black includes the hit Rehab, has fought a very public battle with alcohol, drugs, self-harm and an eating disorder.

Winehouse¡¦s husband,Blake Fielder-Civil, 25, is on remand in prison awaiting trial on charges of assault and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
He was brought to court in northeast London Friday for an administrative hearing. Unlike previous appearances, his wife was not there to provide support.
In other legal news, a California appeals court has cut in half a US$30 million wrongful death judgment awarded against actor Robert Blake to the estate of his slain wife Bonny Lee Bakley, according to an unpublished opinion filed late on Friday. Blake, who was acquitted of Bakley¡¦s 2001 slaying in a criminal trial, had challenged the jury¡¦s award in the subsequent civil wrongful death lawsuit, claiming the trial court made procedural errors and jurors committed misconduct.

US musician Lou Reed and his long-time companion Laurie Anderson recently married, the New York Post reported Friday.
Reed, 66, the lead singer-songwriter and guitarist with the legendary group The Velvet Underground married experimental performance artist Anderson, 60, in a quiet ceremony in Colorado on April 12, the daily said.

Jennifer Lopez is no stranger to reality television: She¡¦s made cameos on Fox¡¦s American Idol and MTV¡¦s DanceLife, which she produced, about six aspiring dancers struggling to make it.

Lopez has signed on to star in an unscripted series for TLC following the stylish actress-singer-dancer-businesswoman as she juggles her career with mommy duty.
Lopez, 39, and husband Marc Anthony, 38, welcomed twins Max and Emme in February. Lopez took months to publicly confirm her pregnancy last year, yet waited only weeks after giving birth to publicly display the babies on the cover of People magazine.
Lopez, who has three fashion lines, is also an executive producer on the TLC program, which will show the star launching a new fragrance to add to her collection of namesake perfumes.
¡§Jennifer is unbelievably passionate about life and will be an incredible role model for our audience,¡¦¡¦ TLC President Angela Shapiro-Mathes said.
Lopez said: ¡§I¡¦m looking forward to sharing this exciting journey together.¡¨
The diva is the latest in a long line of celebs venturing into reality TV. Her predecessors include Paris Hilton, Ashlee Simpson, Britney Spears, Ozzy Osbourne and his family, and exes Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown.
TLC said this week it has also made a deal with Kelly Ripa and her husband, actor Mark Consuelos, that gives the network the first dibs on unscripted projects the couple could develop under their production company Milojo Prods.
Ripa, 37, the co-host of Live With Regis and Kelly, will also host an upcoming series for TLC.¡X AGENCIES
