Xue Xue Institute's ambitious plans include publishing books, educational texts, magazines and e-zines; consultation services for businesses, brand management, marketing; exhibitions; and research into the culture industries.

On Friday evenings the institute holds concerts. "People work a lot. They have childhood and office friends, but not very many like-minded friends. Xue Xue Institute is a platform to meet like-minded friends," Kris Lin said. Besides being a university, it has the potential to be a 21st-century dating venue.
