All the tracks present complete items or movements, and in addition there's an 18-minute Bonus of Beethoven's Nott-urno, Opus 42, complete, with William Primrose playing the viola. This must be attractive to specialists because EMI have seen fit to inscribe "Includes unreleased footage of William Primrose" prominently on the DVD's box.
And this is far from being all. Go to the panel on the Menu labeled "Classic Archive DVD Catalogue" and you get brief excerpts of every one of the 44 DVDs in the set -- another hour and more of music! Throughout this DVD the past springs to life, and many of the famous names in classical music from the third quarter of the 20th century are there. All in all, this sampler is magnif-icent value, and the whole series a major achievement in preserving key moments from the past and offering them again in accessible form. Of the four DVDs reviewed here, this one was, for me, the most enjoyable.
