Bollywood stars Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, son of the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, are planning to wed and astrologers say they are a perfect match, media reports said yesterday.
A member of the Bachchan household had sent the horoscopes of the two stars to a leading astrologer, who advised that the couple should marry at the earliest, the Times of India newspaper said.
The families of Rai, a former Miss World, and Bachchan have remained tight-lipped about the reports, including claims the stars started dating three months ago during the shooting of their upcoming film Umrao Jaan.
Trade watchers said that a marriage could severely affect the Bollywood career of the 32-year-old Rai, who has three big films riding on her.
"I doubt if Aishwarya will marry this year. If she does marry, her market value will most certainly diminish," trade expert Amod Mehra was quoted as saying by the Times of India.

A court commissioner issued a restraining order against celebrity debutante Paris Hilton, ordering her to stay away from an event producer who claimed she threatened and harassed him.
Superior Court Commissioner Tim Murphy approved the restraining order after Brian Quintana, 37, testified that Hilton, 24, shoved him on at least three occasions and badmouthed him.
Quintana testified that he met Hilton a few years ago on the Hollywood party circuit and they had a social relationship. He said that he became friends with Stavros Niarchos III, introduced him to Hilton and the two started dating.
Quintana said his relationship with Hilton started souring after she interrupted a conversation in which Quintana was urging Niarchos to reconsider dating her.
Quintana filed both a police report and a request for a restraining order Dec. 29.
``I have received numerous calls (from Hilton) threatening my life,'' he stated at the time.
