Starting this evening the award-winning choreographer Tatiana Baganova is presenting a highly-praised stage show that aims to challenge audiences by playing cello music alongside modern electronic music to which young dancers in high-heel shoes dance feverishly with nuanced moves.
The performance, created in the US by the Provincial Dance Theater from Yekaterinburg in Russia and performing for the first time in Taiwan, synthesizes choreography, jazz and folk music, art and theater to create a unique style.
Lazy Susan was honored for the nomiation of "Golden Mask" award from the Russian National Theater earlier this year. The dance was inspired by the idea of the rotating Chinese dinner table. "The dance creates confusion through the dancers' eccentric costumes and flickering lights," organizers said.
The dancers' moves appear like chess pieces, Chinese dolls or marionettes. The stage is like "a music box from which various melodies, amazing images and sweet memories pop out and take the audience through a journey of fantasy and joy."
