Zapptime Remix, on the other hand, is a visually astonishing modern circus performance inspired by imagery from daily life.
This series of weekend performances also includes A Journey of Music by Belgian trio Troissoeur, whose compositions roam freely cross music genres. Anna Vnuk's Satter Upp Cats! by Swedish performing artist Anna Vnuk tells of a heartbroken woman. In an alternative version of the Broadway musical Cats, three male actors play the pussy cats belonging to the lonely leading lady. Sweet by multi-talented singer/dancer/actress Charlotte Engelkes from Sweden, is an attention-grabbing solo cabaret performance centered on a desperate woman trying to resist the seductive power of sugar. Finally, the Spanish band Macaco will deliver an exciting fusion of hip hop, techno and latin groove as part of "A Spanish Musical Adventure" on the first weekend of next month. The band will also help close the festival on Nov. 6.
Taking place every Sunday at the tent theaters during the festival, Popcorn Theater features diverse theatrical works by local companies. Nexus' (跨領域藝術創作團隊) The Hands (雙手) is a crossover performance about the eternity of love. Dharma (咒) by Against Again Troupe (再拒劇團) looks at the blinding frenzy of nationalism; while 100% Croissance (百分之百生產力) by Wu Fa Biao Da (舞法表達) tries to defy gravity with a combination of modern dance and acrobatics.
If you want to catch your breath at some quiet art exhibitions there are bamboo canes and vines in two camp-like installation art works entitled Earthly Suit by renowned French photographer Philippe Cibille. Film screenings about various performing groups and theatrical genres will also be shown at the tent theaters during the week days.
All the performances and activities are free of charge, except for the indoor performances at the two tent theaters, so mark the dates on your schedule.
