But anyone expecting to see the film version on stage will be in for a surprise. The musical contains some seven songs that weren't in the film. Also, where the movie saw the first musical numbers through Roxie's daydreaming eyes, the stage version treats them as more straightforward musical numbers.
For this touring production, the role of Roxie will be played by Tracy Shayne, a Broadway veteran and previously the star of Les Miserable, A Chorus Line and Phantom of the Opera. Velma will be played by Terra MacLeod, who recently had her debut on Broadway and first played Velma in the original French production of Chicago. Stage and small-screen star Kevin Neil McCready will play Billy Flynn.
Organizers warn that tickets are selling fast and anyone wanting orchestra seats should reserve them as soon as possible.
