At a press briefing in Washington on Tuesday, Scott played down any controversy and rejected suggestions that the film would upset Muslims or Christians.
"No, I think it won't. The surprise is we've managed to balance things pretty well," Scott said.
"I think the film is quite enlightening and quite uplifting actually," he added.
