Taiwan International 4th Documentary Festival: Delivering the mail to heaven

In Bhutan, delivering the mail means carrying it on one's back for five days over the world's tallest mountains

Unlike so many films of remote and distant cultures that speak with fear of the impending threat of modernity, Price of Letter makes it clear that Bhutan, at least, will remain as it has been for a long time to come.

本片跟隨一位穿梭在不丹喜馬拉雅郊區送信郵差的腳蹤,藉由拍攝他的機會,也記錄了郵差所居住的原始生活環境,一個飼養犛牛維生的社群。在那兒,生活艱辛但平和,只能維持生命最基本的需求。儘管生活困苦,工作中夾雜著風險與疲憊,漫步在高山與河谷的上下坡路,可是郵差還是會持續工作到退休那一天。假如有所選擇,郵差說還是自己的家最好,雖然得花上整整的四天才能抵達那裡。
