If fear of getting sweaty and sticky has kept you indoors all week, there now is one good reason to come out of air-conditioned hiding and give those pores a real workout.
The British house duo Liquid People will be cranking up their soulful and funky mixes at Eden tonight for a night of Defected label ass-shaking house music that should give everyone a nice, bright sheen.
Defected has been behind a string of club-banging house anthems that anyone who's been to a semi-decent club in recent years will recognize.
They're usually the ones with the diva in the background singing something slightly asinine about love or about how good it feels to be free over heartbeat-altering drums.
Liquid People's contribution to the Defected label, called Monster, forewent vocals entirely for a track that builds into a catchy, old-school techno frenzy. The Mancunian pair have a fairly large back catalogue on a handful of labels to fill their dj bags with if they wanted to just spin their own stuff, but more likely they'll be mixing up Defected tracks with other house classics.
Massaging the crowd before Liquid People take over the decks will be Taipei's own Renaissance man SL (劉軒), dropping his signature mix of sexy house grooves.
Tickets cost NT$800 at the door. Eden is located at 10-11F, 98, Chunghsiao E Rd, Sec 4, Taipei (台北忠孝東路4段98號10-11Fl).
