Sadly, however, the reasons behind the orchestra's desire to teach classical music appreciation to the young are twofold. According to Maddock, classical music in the UK now has a predominately aging audience, meaning that such visits are not simply aimed at tuition but are vitally important to the continuing appreciation of classical music in Britain.
