Rated G, directed by Peter Hyams, with Catherine Deneuve (Anne, Queen of France), Mena Suvari (Francesca Bonacieux), Stephen Rea (Cardinal Richelieu), Tim Roth (Febre), Justin Chambers (D'Artagnan), Bill Treacher (Bonacieux), Daniel Mesguich (King Louis), David Schofield (Rochefort), Steven Spiers (Porthos), Nick Moran (Aramis), running time: 105 minutes.

For those who can't get enough of Alexander Dumas' famous novel and its countless screen adaptations, Peter Hyams offers the tale of D'Artagnan told with an oriental flair. Veteran Hong Kong stunt coordinator Xiong Xinxin puts in his two punches and the swashbuckling story takes on a vastly different feel than its predecessors. The musketeers take a minor turn in this adaptation, however, and D'Artagnan takes center stage as the rogue sword who is trying to avenge the murder of his parents by making his way into the king's Royal Musketeers. His heart only softens for Francesca, the lovely Parisian chambermaid who claims his heart at first sight.
