In anticipation of the approaching meteor shower, a dance party and electronic music festival will happen on the 19th floor garden rooftop of Taichung's Jin Sha Department Store (金沙百貨公司), which just happens to be located one floor below the space-needle-style UFO Restaurant. In addition to the natural fireworks, the party will incorporate DJs, drums, dancing, indie-film screenings and barbecue.
The music and man-made atmosphere will be handled by Taichung-based organizers, CF, a well-grounded production squad that has slowly been pushing the scale of its events up to the current level. The CF vibe is basically much groovier and lighter than the dark gangster 'n' glowstick trance of Taiwan's urban rave clubs. And even though CF is getting bigger, they say they are trying hard to keep the mood how they like it.
The party will kick off at 10pm with a cookout and hip over vintage black-and-white films projected on the outdoor walls. Funky house music by the Seedy Pimps follows from midnight until 2am, then comes DJ Tom spinning tribal and RainboWarrior playing a new shipment of music that is supposed to last him through the winter in Goa.
