Rated PG, directed by Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise, with the voices of: Michael J. Fox (Milo), James Garner (Rourke), Cree Summer (Princess Kida), Don Novello (Vinny), Phil Morris (Dr Sweet), running time: 95 minutes.
This summer, Disney comes out with both guns blazing, literally, in its newest animated feature Atlantis: The Lost Empire, an imaginative mix of action, adventure, and sweeping landscapes filled with stunning animation. The film follows the adventures of Milo (Michael J. Fox), a boiler room attendant and linguistics expert. Milo's grandfather was an explorer looking for Atlantis and had written down the lost city's location in a hidden journal. Having found the journal and acquired the clues contained within, Milo then joins a group of rag-tag explorers in the search for Atlantis. Unlike most Disney fare of late, this movie does not feature a cute sidekick, but is heavy on the violence and even has a character who, gasp, smokes.
