LTK heads south to promote latest album

    By Gavin Phipps
    STAFF REPORTER
    Friday, May 25, 2001, Page 8

Taiwan’s enigmatic rebel-rock band, LTK Commune (濁水溪), continues to promote its latest album Foul Stench(臭死了), as the band’s “West Tour 2001” hits central Taiwan.

Taichung’s Lizhan Pub () will have the pleasure of playing host to LTK Commune along with special guests beginning at 1pm Sunday.

Regarded by many as the island’s most unigue underground band, LTK Commune is known for its highly original tunes, mixing musical genres such as punk, nakashi and even pop to create a powerful wall of sound.

The band is also known for its hard-hitting political satire and onstage antics. Past gigs have seen the band ridiculing the powers that be with the aid of beer bottles, rocks, and strap on rubber genitalia and short theatrical performance.

There will be eight other bands contributing to the Sunday afternoon mayhem, including Silly What? And Anarchy.

Performance Note: What: LTK Commune West Tour 2001.
When: Sunday, 1pm. Where: Lizhan Pub; 41 Daguan Road, Taichung. (台中市大觀路41號)
    Tickets: NT$300 at the door.
