NSC program works

I am a computer science major at Stanford University who is currently interning at the National Center for High-Performance Computing (NCHC). Over the past five weeks, I have been studying MPEG-4/H.264 formats with the goal of finding an efficient and reasonably high-quality form of video compression to be used for videoconferencing.

Specifically, I have been reading and analyzing papers on motion estimation algorithms that will improve the speed of video compression while maintaining quality.

First, in response to the goals of the National Science Council (NSC) in creating and funding this program, I would like to affirm that I have indeed gained invaluable work experience as well as academic knowledge. I am positive that this summer experience will further enhance my ability to attain future success, and I would like to thank the NSC, my co-workers at NCHC, and also the people of Taiwan for this.

I strongly believe that this program is excellent for Taiwan as well as for the interns attending. Any problems there may be with the way the program was run this year are able to be fixed. Moreover, they are minor in comparison to the benefits attained by everyone.
