    Beware the Chinese mafia

    By Chen Ming-Chung

    Sunday, Mar 06, 2005, Page 8

Up until the day China's anti-secession law is passed -- or rubber-stamped -- no one in the world, including those 1.3 billion Chinese to be ruled by it, except for a privileged few, knows its contents. ("US Congress may act too late," March 3, page 1.)

Absent was any public debate or input, let alone approval of the law. Such mafia-style secrecy says a lot about this communist regime. It also reflects a lot about those in the international community who either approved of it or have remained silent about this brutal regime. Think hard, and act from your conscience.

Who exactly does this law represent?
