Editorial: The fight to build a safer Taiwan

At the very least, one can be pleased with the Chen Shui-bian (陳水扁) administration's continued crackdown on "black gold." Hopefully, such government efforts will not only root out other such cases but take steps to prevent similar malfeasance, before more people have to die to prove that existing safeguards are not working.
