Are Taiwan's tires safe?
Lately, we receive a daily dose of the nightmare created by those famous giants, Ford Motor Company and Firestone/Bridgestone. Now it turns out their dirty little secret has been kept under wraps for 10 years.
What about Taiwan? How many traffic fatalities result from these defective tires? Both these companies have a strong presence in Taiwan. Since Bridgestone is a Japanese company, we can expect quick assurances from our neighbor.
What about the rental car companies. Are they safely equipped with good tires? Our visitors certainly should be guaranteed that. Driving here is enough of a hazard.
