The Minister of Finance Lee Yung-san (李庸三) yesterday said his ministry has been working actively to establish a sound system of financial openness and transparency, and has already begun setting up a sound accounting system.
Lee's remarks came in response to a new research report released by the International Monetary Fund which indicated that although Taiwan has been listed as a large-scale financial country like Japan and the United States, the nation lags the two advanced countries in terms of transparency of financial information.
