Uranium mines for sale

The Taiwan Power Co (Taipower, 台電) invited international bids on Thursday for its sale of property with uranium mines in the United States. Taipower intends to sell uranium mines in the US states of Arizona and Wyoming, which are jointly owned by Taipower and RME Holding Co of the US. The properties include deposits with proven uranium reserves, established exploration targets, some with ore-grade mineralization, and properties with untested exploration potential, Taipower said in a statement. Bids will be accepted until September 10, Taipower said. Taipower wants to sell the mines because uranium prices on the world market have fallen. "We think it is more economical for mining companies to develop these mines," a Taipower official said by telephone.
