Yageo posts losses

Yageo Corp (國巨) posted a second-quarter loss as parts prices fell and it wrote down the value of some of its investments. Net loss for the three months ended June 30 was NT$2.25 billion (US$66 million), compared with a NT$1 billion profit a year ago, the company said in a statement. Second-quarter sales fell 1 percent to NT$4.2 billion. While Yageo's main electronic components and parts business was still profitable, the company incurred a NT$2.7 billion loss from investments and other non-core operations.
