New Taiwan dollar closes down

The New Taiwan dollar yesterday fell against its US counterpart on the Taipei foreign exchange market, losing NT$0.056 to close at NT$33.723. Turnover totalled US$653 million, up from the previous day's US$627 million. The local currency opened at NT$33.667 against the greenback and was traded between NT$33.543 and NT$33.739 during the session.
