The New Taiwan dollar yesterday continued to lose ground against its US counterpart, declining by NT$0.148 to close at NT$33.437 on the Taipei foreign exchange market. The turnover totalled US$844 million, up from the previous day's US$807 million.
The local currency opened at the day's low of NT$33.299 and hit a high of NT$33.443.
