Suggestions taken at APEC

Taiwan's participation in the fifth ministerial meeting on energy of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum produced fruitful results, with its two proposals included in the meeting's declaration, the Ministry of Economic Affairs said yesterday.

Vice Minister of Economic Affairs Yiin Chii-ming (尹啟銘), who led an official delegation to the APEC conference held July 22-23 in Mexico City, came up with two proposals -- one concerning energy supply cooperation among member states in case of earthquake disasters and the other regarding energy efficiency standards -- which were included in the declaration thanks to support from Japan, the US, New Zealand and Australia, the ministry said.
