Hong Kong Dragon Airlines Ltd (港龍航空) will give away 495 tickets on its new Hong Kong-Taipei flights, stepping up competition for Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd (國泰航空) and China Airlines Co (中華航空) that dominate the route.
Hong Kong's second-largest carrier will give economy-class tickets to the first 99 customers to call the airline or travel agents each day this week, the company said in a statement.
The airline will start three daily return flights between Hong Kong and Taipei on July 22. It's the first time Dragonair and larger Hong Kong rival Cathay Pacific will compete head-on for passengers.
