Line exec guest at forum
A senior marketing communication manager at mobile messaging service provider Line Corp will speak at an annual digital content forum in Taipei next month, organizers said yesterday. Line executive Satoshi Yajima will be one of several industry experts who will share their success stories and insights at Digital Taipei on Sept. 16 and 17 at the Taipei International Convention Center, the Taipei Computer Association said in a statement. Yajima will not only talk about how Line has become one of the most popular messaging service providers in the world, but will also look at industry trends and the future direction of the company, the association said. Other speakers at the forum will include representatives from TV Tokyo Corp, Sherpa Games, Neocyon Inc and the design team behind the video game Journey, the organizers said.
Acer slips to third in India
Acer Inc (宏碁) fell one spot in India’s PC market in the second quarter, but remained in a head-to-head battle with Dell Inc, market research firm International Data Corp (IDC) said on Monday. Acer’s 10.4 percent share in the quarter was the third-highest in India, trailing Hewlett-Packard Co (HP) and Dell, IDC said in a report. HP had a market share of 34.1, ahead of Dell’s 11.0 percent, it said. Taipei-based Acer continued to thrive in government and education projects across the country, IDC said.
