Local smartphone maker HTC Corp (宏達電) yesterday confirmed that two of its senior executives have left the company following a number of recent resignations of high-ranking staff.

HTC said in an e-mailed statement that chief product officer Kouji Kodera had left the company to pursue other interests.

Scott Croyle, HTC’s vice president of design, will take over Kodera’s duties, the statement said.

In addition, HTC said vice president of global communications Jason Gordon has also left the company. The Taoyuan-based firm did not offer any explanation for Gordon’s decision to leave the company.

“HTC continues to invest in talent and recruitment as part of our broader human resources strategy to ensure the continued strength of our company’s organizational structure,” HTC said in the statement.

HTC issued the statement after news Web site the Verge reported on Tuesday that as well as Kodera and Gordon leaving the company, HTC’s global retail marketing manager Rebecca Rowland, director of digital marketing John Starkweather and product strategy manager Eric Lin were also planning to quit their jobs at HTC.

HTC did not comment on these positions in its statement.
