Cowealth Medical Holding Co (合富), a medical equipment provider for Chinese hospitals, yesterday said that last quarter revenue increased 25.81 percent year-on-year to NT$660.41 million (US$22.44 million) on the back of the growing market for medical equipment in China.
The company attributed last quarter’s sales increase to a 35 percent rise in revenues of diagnostics facilities and reagents last quarter, and forecast sales of such goods to grow between 20 percent and 30 percent this year.
Sales of Accuray Inc’s CyberKnife System, a radiosurgery system used for treating tumors that is the company’s second main sales driver, were up 10.5 percent year-on-year last quarter, the company said.
Cowealth sold one CyberKnife system last quarter and is expected to sell another two before the end of this year.
Meanwhile, ScinoPharm Taiwan Ltd (台灣神隆), a producer of made-to-order pharmaceutical ingredients, reported that its revenue increased 22.07 percent to NT$1.19 billion in the first three months of this year, from NT$971.28 million a year ago, because two of the company’s new production lines built last year were put into operation, the company said.
