Hon Hai Precision Industry Co (鴻海), which assembles Apple Inc’s iPads and iPhones, yesterday said unconsolidated revenue last month increased 8.19 percent from a month ago as the company was gearing up to assemble a new version of the iPhone for its US customers.
Revenue was NT$240.54 billion (US$8.18 billion), compared with NT$222.31 billion in August, Hon Hai said in a statement.
Compared with NT$221.78 billion in September last year, sales were up 8.46 percent, according to Hon Hai, which also manufactures TVs for Sony Corp and printers for Hewlett-Packard Co.
In the third quarter, the company’s unconsolidated revenue was NT$711.54 billion, down 2.55 percent sequentially, but up 6.89 percent annually. For the first nine months, revenues totaled NT$2.23 trillion, up 20.37 percent year-on-year, the statement showed.
Pegatron Corp (和碩), another system assembler of iPads and iPhones, yesterday said in a separate statement that its consolidated revenue for last month rose from a month earlier, pushing its third-quarter sales to a record high.
With double-digit percentage rises in sales from both of its computing and communications segments, Pegatron said revenue last month increased 16.2 percent month-on-month and 26.94 percent year-on-year to NT$68.27 billion, boosting the quarterly number to NT$190.7 billion, up 2.4 percent from the second quarter.
Cumulative revenue in the first nine months were up 54.4 percent to NT$521.79 billion, Pegatron said.
