GETTING HANDS DIRTY
Miners of the Carbosulcis di Nuraxi Figus coal mine close the entrance to the mine as they barricade themselves in to protest against its closure in Cagliari, Italy, on Friday. Miners have occupied the coal mine to prevent its closure and demand that the government help relaunch the coal industry, Italian media reported. The miners from the Carbosulcis pit are calling for 200 million euros (US$251.6 million) in funds promised, but then blocked by the government to help boost the mining sector.Sep 02, 2012
