Expo exhaustion
A Japanese couple rests in front of the Spanish Pavilion at the Aichi World Expo in Nagakute near Nagoya, Japan, yesterday. At a charity auction, 310 blocks of the Spanish Pavilion wall were sold for ?3.1 million yen (US$27,500). The Aichi Expo will end today after 185 days. With more than 21 million visitors, ticket sales have surpassed initial expectations of ?15 billion, and a profit of ?10 billion is expected by the Japan Association for the 2005 World Exposition. The next Expo will be organized in Zaragoza, Spain, in 2008, followed by Shanghai in 2010.Sep 25, 2005
