Chinese women walk past television sets manufactured by TCL International Holdings Ltd at a shopping mall in Beijing on Wednesday. The Chinese television manufacturer annouced a joint venture Tuesday with Thomson SA of France. The new company, TCL-Thomson Electronics, is expected to generate annual revenues of more than US$3.49 billion producing 18 million television sets and up to 4 million DVD players each year, making it the world's largest producer of TV sets.
