Fitness and spa center operator President Being Corp (統一佳佳) yesterday said that better resource utilization within the Uni-President Group (統一集團) would help expand its customer base and increase revenue.
“Synergy at the beauty businesses could be exerted with a clear blueprint from the group,” President Being general manager Alice Chen (陳姵蓉) said at a business event.
Uni-President group is involved in the health and beauty sector through five firms: President Being, Dream-Mall Co (夢時代), Uni-Ustyle Department Store (統一時代), President Pharmaceutical Corp (統一藥品) and President Drugstore Business Corp (統一生活事業), which owns the nation’s second-largest drugstore chain, Cosmed (康是美).
President Being was launched in 2006 in a bid to capitalize on rising health awareness in the nation.
The company operates 15 outlets in Taiwan under two brands for sports and spa services, including four launched last year in Kaohsiung’s Dream Mall (夢時代購物中心) and Tainan’s T.S. Mall (南紡夢時代購物中心).
“The newly opened outlets follow popular consumption patterns,” Chen said, adding that people tend to spend more time in shopping malls.
“The outlets in department stores also help us reach a diverse range of customers,” Chen said, adding that families and couples tend to visit spa centers together.
The affiliated companies within the group are valuable assets to President Being, Chen added.
“The group’s five beauty businesses have their individual membership data, which could be used for marketing activities and for understanding customer behaviors,” she said.
The company plans to cooperate with other affiliates to hold events and campaigns in the future, she said.
President Being’s revenue last year increased 25 percent to NT$420 million (US$12.95 million), marking the second consecutive year of more than 20 percent growth.
However, the company is to slow down the pace of new store openings this year, Chen said.
“We value our members’ experiences, therefore we will continue adding value to that instead of expanding further,” Chen said.
