Turkey’s vintners sobered by new ‘prohibition’ law

“Drinking alcohol is a personal choice, nobody should control it,” she said.

In addition, it seems Turkish people are voting with their wallets by drinking more than ever, given that — taxes or no — consumption jumped from 38 billion liters a year to 60 billion liters a year between 2008 and last year.
