Taiwan is scheduled to hold a forum in Manila next week to brief participants about the advantages of industrial development as a way of attracting foreign clients into buying local products, the central bank, one of the event’s organizers, said yesterday.
More than 30 representatives of 10 manufacturers, representing a wide range of industries, such as electronics, green energy and civil engineering, are due to meet potential buyers at the forum, the central bank said.
Participants will include flat-panel maker AU Optronics Corp (友達光電), solar panel supplier DelSolar Co (旺能光電), thin-film photovoltaic module producer NexPower Technology Corp (聯相光電) and CECI Engineering Consultants Inc (世曦工程顧問), the central bank said.
The bank said about 100 foreign potential buyers are expected to attend the forum, adding that organizers of the forum have arranged one-on-one meetings between local firms and foreign attendants to help them seize possible business opportunities.
The forum is slated to open on Tuesday, a day before the start of the fourth annual Asian Development Bank Business Opportunities Fair, which is to be held on Wednesday and Thursday, the central bank said.
The central bank added that organizers of the forum want to take advantage of the Asian Development Bank fair and the forum as an opportunity for local exporters to meet more potential buyers at a time when many participants, including government officials and business leaders from the ADB’s member countries, want to make their presence felt.
