Taiwanese handset keypad maker Ichia Technologies Inc (毅嘉科技) yesterday reported that its sales last month fell 23.8 percent from November, triggering its whole-year revenue for last year to drop 11 percent from 2011.

Ichia, which also manufactures other electronic components such as flexible printed circuit (FPC) boards used in smartphones, tablets and other devices, said consolidated revenue was NT$722.72 million (US$24.84 million) last month, with sales of integrated modules for metal and plastic mechanical parts at NT$235 million and sales of FPC integrated components at NT$509 million.

The company based in Linkou District (林口), New Taipei City (新北市), said in a stock exchange filing that last month’s figure compared with NT$948.49 million for the previous month.

However, it fell 46.17 percent from NT$1.34 billion a year earlier, the filing said.

Ichia counts Alcatel-Lucent SA, Nokia Oyj, Sony Corp and Research in Motion Ltd among its major customers.

The company’s fourth quarter sales totaled NT$2.51 billion, up 10.21 percent from the third quarter’s NT$2.27 billion, but lower than the NT$2.66 billion forecast by Fubon Securities Co (富邦證券).

For the whole of last year, Ichia’s consolidated revenue totaled NT$8.9 billion, which was 11 percent lower than the NT$10 billion the company made a year earlier and 1.72 percent lower than Fubon’s estimate of NT$9.06 billion.

Shares in Ichia dropped 1.69 percent to NT$14.55, declining 19.39 percent over the past 12 months, Taiwan Stock Exchange data showed.
