Corporate customers prefer tablet computers with screens measuring between 9.7 and 10.1 inches, while Google Inc’s Android operating system is expected to offer greater growth potential in the long run, a Digitimes Research survey showed yesterday.
About 66 percent of companies polled on their plans for purchasing tablet computers said they favored models featuring screens measuring between 9.7 and 10.1 inches, followed by 31.2 percent that preferred 7-inch models, the Taipei-based research house said in an e-mailed statement.
As for operating systems, 66.8 percent of the companies said they supported the Android platform and believed it offered better potential in the long term, Digitimes said.

It added that 14.7 percent said they favored Apple Inc’s iOS, while 13 percent picked Microsoft’s Windows.
Digitimes said the companies made their choices based on how free and open the tablet platform is to be licensed and developed.
Corporate customers also looked to the number of applications available and how strong the third-party tools could help develop and support the operating system in making their decision, it said.
Apple’s iPad has dominated the tablet market with a market share of about 90 percent, while those using Android software have been rising in numbers as more companies offer gadgets that can rival the iPad, Strategy Analytics said.
Separately, HTC Corp (宏達電), the Taiwanese maker of Android and Windows-based handsets, launched its Evo View 4G and HTC Flyer tablets at the International CTIA wireless industry conference in Orlando, Florida, on Tuesday.
The Evo View 4G is a rebranded version of the HTC Flyer — which made its debut during the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona last month — for Sprint Nextel Corp.
