By Joyce Huang  /  STAFF REPORTER

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Farglory Group (遠雄集團) yesterday launched an online auction for one of its luxury apartments in Linkou Township (林口), Taipei County, with a price tag of NT$31 million (US$956,000).

The online auction will last until noon Oct. 6, when the company will disclose its floor price to qualify a pool of bidders from home or abroad for the first phase of its auction, the company said in a press statement yesterday.

Another on-site auction will be organized on Oct. 15 to finalize the buyer of the 85 ping (281m2) apartment, the statement said.

As of 6:30pm yesterday, 30,000 visitors had browsed the company’s online auction Web site to learn about the auction details, Farglory said.

Prior to the launch of yesterday’s online auction, Farglory sent out some 7,000 invitations to past VIP buyers to take part in the auction, while extending a welcome to new potential buyers. Interested bidders are welcome to make a trip to the company’s housing project in Linkou to win authorization to participate in the auctions, the company added.

To sponsor the event, BMW Taiwan and Panasonic Taiwan have also put up a 323i sedan with performance kit and a set of kitchen appliances for sale, which are worth NT$3.33 million and NT$1 million respectively, Farglory said.
